Role Overview The HSE Manager provides strategic leadership and direction for all Health, Safety, and Environmental activities.

This role ensures full compliance with regulatory requirements, drives continuous improvement in safety performance, and fosters a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.

The HSE Manager works closely with all departments and at all levels to minimise risk, enhance employee wellbeing, and support sustainable manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with UK & Ireland Health & Safety Regulations Develop and implement the organisation's HSE strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practice.

Advise the leadership on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and long-term HSE priorities.

Oversee risk assessments and safe systems of work for injection moulding, extrusion, fabrications, compounding, transport, warehousing and recycling.

Ensure robust controls for polymer dust, fumes, VOCs, static electricity, and thermal hazards.

Lead process safety initiatives, including machine guarding, interlocks, hot-runner systems, and high-temperature operations.

Lead environmental strategy, including waste reduction, recycling, energy efficiency, and carbon-reduction initiatives.

Support circular-economy initiatives, including recycled content, regrind management, and sustainable material selection.

Oversee incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.

Ensure robust reporting, trend analysis, and communication of HSE performance.

Engage with customers, suppliers, and industry bodies on HSE matters, including plastics sustainability and compliance expectations.

Represent the company in external audits, industry forums, and regulatory consultations Skills and Experience NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Previous experience working in Health, Safety and Environmental Management Experience with process safety, automation safety and machine safeguarding Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems Strong leadership, influencing and communication skills Proven track record of implementing HSE strategy Experience with sustainability programmes Here at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group's success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
