The Business Development Manager – Water Distribution will coordinate water distribution projects and drive sales growth for Polypipe Building Services’ water supply systems.
This hybrid role combines detailed project management with proactive business development — managing customer relationships, securing new business, developing project plans, and ensuring successful delivery.
The role requires strong commercial awareness, technical knowledge, and collaboration across departments to meet business objectives and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Key accountabilities
- Develop and manage detailed water distribution project plans from initial bid through delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources to deliver projects on time and to specification.
- Support bid strategies, proposals, tenders, and high-level commercial negotiations.
- Focusing on water supply delivery via medium to large M&E contractor accounts while proactively identifying and converting new opportunities.
- Drive incremental sales growth and win business from competitors.
- Provide technical dialogue and site support for customers and the internal sales team.
- Build strong partnerships with Regional Directors, Technical Sales and Project Development Managers, and Key Account personnel.
- Lead development of Mecflow water supply systems and services into targeted sectors, including house builders, bathroom pods, and modern construction methods.
- Track, measure, and report on key project metrics and sales KPIs.
- Represent and support the business at industry events and brand awareness activities.
- Comply with company policies and quality assurance procedures at all times.

- Knowledge of construction project lifecycles, public RMI, house building, and modern construction methods.

- Relevant qualification or equivalent industry experience.
