ADEY, the market leader in the provision of residential water treatment products for closed loop heating and cooling systems in the UK, is looking for a Head of GBS to join the team. Part of the Genuit Groups’ Climate Management Solutions (CMS) business unit, ADEY has ambitious growth plans to continue protecting the world's heating and cooling systems, to have a positive impact on the environment and people's lives.

The Role

As the Head of GBS you’ll be the Genuit Business Systems lead for Climate Management Solutions, focussing on [site/business]. Responsible for embedding the GBS system, its tools, techniques and behaviours will bring you to each corner of the organisation as you seek out ways to work better. As a change agent for the business, the Head of GBS is responsible for identifying and delivering business improvement through Kaizen events, CI projects (CIP), daily collaboration, focused action and teamwork. The Head of GBS is a data focussed, process driven advocate for change who recognises the importance of engagement, colleague relationships and teamwork. It’s essential that as the Head of GBS you lead the structured approach and alignment to the GBS way of working whilst rolling up your sleeves to make stuff happen!

Note – the Genuit Business System (GBS) is a continually improving set of companywide standardised tools encompassing all areas of business and focused around lean principles, designed to drive growth, efficiency and people development across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be an active member of the GBS team, collaborating to elevate performance across the business.
  • Lead cross functional collaboration to accelerate improvements through our organisation.
  • Coach senior leaders on GBS principles, providing challenge and support to build capability and embed consistent ways of working.
  • Facilitate high impact Kaizen events and improvement workshops that drive tangible business outcomes.
  • Responding to daily challenges you’ll lead root cause analysis workshops and following the completion of corrective and preventative actions.
  • You will support wider CMS improvement activities by sharing knowledge and supporting cross-business events in the division.

  • You will take ownership for GBS deployment and the delivery of meaningful results.
  • Taking local ownership of implementing the Genuit Business System you’ll deliver site wide improvements.
  • As the site GBS lead you’ll own a suite of business wide KPI’s that you’ll analyse, update and action.
  • You will drive a cultural shift at [business] to GBS as “the way we work”.
  • You’ll manage the site's continuous improvement funnel ensuring projects demonstrate ROI, are resourced appropriately and are aligned with our strategic goals.

  • Participate in GBS networks, sharing insights and bringing back best practice to strengthen the site’s GBS maturity.

The Person

Essential

  • Proven track record of identifying inefficiencies and leading improvements initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, gaining buy in for new processes or ways of working.
  • Experience leading cross-functional change in a practical, people centred way.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of success.
  • Strong problem-solving skills using data, insight and structured processes.

Desirable

  • A technical qualification in Engineering or Business Management.
  • Understanding of Lean, six sigma, agile, or other improvement methodologies.
