Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Specialist Landscaping team, focusing on Podium and Roof Level Landscaping, Blue Roof systems, and Green Wall installations. This role plays a crucial part in our preconstruction and tendering operations, ensuring accurate, competitive, and professionally presented bid submissions. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction or landscaping disciplines and experience analysing complex landscape construction drawings to produce detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and tender documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, and analyse construction, architectural, structural, and landscaping drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Produce detailed, itemised Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for podium decks, roof gardens, green roofs, blue roof systems, and green wall packages.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, including materials, labour, plant, preliminaries, and risk allowances.
- Develop tender clarifications, methodologies, and assumptions where required.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to request quotations, evaluate returns, and clarify scope.
- Assess subcontractor quotes for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
- Compile full tender submissions, including BOQs, schedules, pricing documents, and technical responses.
- Work with internal teams to ensure alignment across Business Development, Operations, and Commercial functions.
- Identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities for optimisation within tender packages.
- Maintain internal estimating databases, rates, and benchmarking information.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 yearsâ experience as an Estimator within the construction or landscaping industry.
- Proven ability to interpret detailed construction and landscape drawings.
- Strong knowledge of materials and systems associated with podium landscaping, roof gardens, green roofs, and green walls.
- Ability to produce structured, itemised BOQs with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problemâsolving skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and estimating or measurement software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
