ADEY, the market leader in the provision of residential water treatment products for closed loop heating and cooling systems in the UK, is looking for a CAD Technician to join the team. Part of the Genuit Groups’ Climate Management Solutions (CMS) business unit, ADEY has ambitious growth plans to continue protecting the world's heating and cooling systems, to have a positive impact on the environment and people's lives.
The Role
The CAD Technician is responsible for uploading models and drawings to PDM system, maintaining a good understanding of PDM system implementation, CAD administration (non-design work), including updating drawing packs through ECRs. The CAD Technician is also responsible for drawing office ECRs and providing regular updates, and taking a pro-active approach when dealing with sometimes complex ECRs.
Responsibilities
- Working within PDM system for drawings updates and file management.
- Supporting migration effort on to PDM vault.
- Producing technical illustrations for step by step I&S guides.
- CAD administrator (non-design work) updates to drawings packs through ECRs.
- Managing drawing office ECRs, ensuring processes are followed.
- Produce 2D drawings.
- Build assembly models on CAD.
- Ability to simplify 3D models.
- Provide ECR updates and take a pro-active approach when dealing with sometimes complex ECRs.
- Responsible for time management of own workload.
The Person
Essential:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Solidworks PDM systems – Experience and implementation.
- Knowledge of ECR processes.
- Solidworks or equivalent 3D CAD systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to generate 2D drawings.
- A keen eye for detail and presentation.
- Microsoft packages.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- A level/BTEC or equivalent in Engineering or similar subject.
- Drives results and continuous improvement.
- A team player.
Desired but non-essential experience in the following areas:
- High-end rendered CAD imagery for marketing (brochures, pop-up banners for exhibitions, videos etc).
- Creating visuals for concept approval of new ideas.
- Producing technical graphs.
- Support with technical reports/test procedures/templates and policy documents.
- File and maintain non-electronic copies of technical documents including Certificates, approvals and ASME/EN/BS standards.
