Role Overview
Oversee the locations procurement activities both direct and indirect. Take responsibility for finding, evaluating and managing incumbent suppliers, their products and services. Ensure all procurement activities are aligned to the group procurement processes and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and mentor the Procurement Team, ensuring clear objectives and training plans are in place.
- Own the procurement process for a defined list of local suppliers, including sourcing, negotiations and onboarding.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business needs and group procurement policies.
- Deliver annual cost savings, meet cash conversion targets and improve supplier payment terms.
- De-risk the supply chain and maintain supply continuity through supplier framework agreements.
- Manage supplier performance to ensure quality, cost and delivery KPI compliance.
- Ensure full utilisation of MRP, including raising of purchase orders and management of exception messages and delivery dates.
- Support the S&OP process and balance supply capabilities with market requirements.
- Monitor raw material and component availability while maintaining economic stock levels and tracking inventory KPIs.
- Produce statistical reports on spend, cost savings, cash conversion, contract progress and KPI performance.
Required Skills and Experience
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a procurement leadership role.
- Strong commercial and contractual negotiation skills.
- Manufacturing and engineering technical knowledge.
- Demonstrable track record of achieving cost savings and meeting performance targets.
- Strong leadership, communication and influencing abilities.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
