Specialists in providing engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe Building Services leverages offsite fabrication to design and deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors as well as local authorities. Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, education and leisure projects for over 50 years.
Role Overview: To ensure that quality products are assembled in a timely and cost effective manner whilst applying a culture of continuous improvement, which in turn will deliver excellent customer services and value for money alongside achieving the correct assembly standards and therefore contributing to maximising departmental performance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure all products are assembled and packed in accordance with published PI Sheets and meet stated quality and packing standards.
- Capture all required data accurately in the appropriate systems.
- Use the correct equipment at all times and ensure you are fully trained before operating any machinery.
- Separate all waste into the correct bins and notify the Team Leader of quantities and any defects.
- Stamp all boxes and print/select descriptive labels for products, bags, or cartons as per the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes wherever possible.
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment, supporting colleagues to work safely.
- Provide cover for moulding personnel during breaks, training sessions, and meetings when required.
- Train new colleagues, providing clear instruction to help them perform their duties safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Able to assemble various manufactured products within a high demand environment.
- High attention to detail.
- Meets or exceeds output standards.
- Willingness to learn to use Manual Handling Equipment (FLT, Pivot steer, PPT).
- Reliable and committed with good time keeping.
- Willingness to learn and use manufacturing equipment in a safe manner as per training provided.
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Flexible and willing to undertake roles as trained and requested.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn IFS or similar MRP systems.
- Ability to read and follow written or verbal instructions and work to the required standards.
Hours of work & Benefits:
- Flexible between 7am - 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 7am - 1pm. Total 40 hours per week.
