Material Scheduler is responsible for planning and coordinating the flow of materials to ensure production stays on schedule and meets customer demand. Key responsibilities are to raise purchase orders (both direct and indirect), manage exception messages, track deliveries, and work with suppliers to minimise shortages and confirm delivery dates. The material scheduler always uses the ERP/MRP for planning and creating orders and ensuring a balance of inventory levels against the production plan. Key Responsibilities: * Support the S&OP process, managing any demands and changes to the production plan by amending the order book whilst maintaining high stock turns * Work closely with planning to understand demand shifts in their production schedules, resource constraints, and line capacity * Purchase Order Management. Create and manage purchase orders (direct and Indirect,) ensuring timely delivery of materials and services from suppliers * Ensure all purchase orders are raised via the MRP System or requisition system, and will not be issued to any supplier until the order is approved * Manage exception messages (expedite, delay and cancel orders) and constantly update purchase order delivery dates for each line item when changes arise * Ensure all orders are goods receipted within 24 hours of arrival * Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, resolving delivery issues and ensuring on-time deliveries. * Provide accurate and timely updates on material status and supplier OTD performance. * Ensure P2P compliance and Procurement Governance * Key Internal/External stakeholders - Group Procurement Director, Head Of Procurement, Operations Director, SMT, R&D, CI, Warehouse Manager, Production Manager, Quality, Finance, Suppliers Capabilities required * Proven previous experience in a similar procurement and planning role * Understanding of material flow, inventory management, and supplier relationships. * Ability to analyse data, identify issues, and develop solutions * Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in order book management * Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders * Individual to be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines. * Computer literate - knowledge of Excel and Word essential, Previous IFS use an advantage
