The Role

We are looking for an experienced Despatch Manager to lead our warehouse and outbound logistics operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective storage, movement, and distribution of products while delivering excellent service to customers. You will lead and develop operational teams, drive performance against key service and productivity measures, and champion a culture of safety, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all warehouse and dispatch operations, including goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, and distribution.
  • Ensure products are dispatched safely, efficiently, and in line with customer service expectations.
  • Manage outbound logistics activities, working closely with transport teams and third-party carriers to achieve OTIF delivery performance.
  • Develop, coach, and support operational leaders to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Drive a positive culture focused on safety, accountability, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee effective stock control processes.
  • Monitor and improve operational KPIs including productivity, service, stock accuracy, costs, and quality.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, service, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Transport, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, and Customer Service.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Proven experience managing warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience developing and motivating teams.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse operations, health and safety requirements, and materials handling equipment.
  • Experience working with ERP and WMS systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive approach to driving operational performance and continuous improvement.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience with Lean or Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Kaizen or 5S.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or multi-site logistics environment.
