Role Overview: This is a hands-on role where you will be providing advice and support to the organisation. Furthermore, you will be the responsible person for maintaining health and safety requirements for our sites and offices in Doncaster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement of the HSE culture, promoting positive behaviours and employee engagement
- Work closely with departmental managers to implement Group HSE policies, procedures and best practice
- Support and maintain effective site HSE management systems
- Lead and support accident, incident and environmental investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and preventative actions
- Provide expert advice and guidance to site management teams on Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant HSE legislation and ensure site compliance
- Ensure accurate recording, analysis and reporting of accident and incident data, tracking trends and actions
- Consult and communicate with the workforce on HSE matters through meetings and formal forums
- Work collaboratively with Occupational Health to support and implement recommendations
- Develop and deliver HSE projects and the annual HSE plan in line with Group KPIs
- Partner with L&D to evaluate, develop and deliver effective HSE training
- Oversee permits to work and contractor safety, ensuring safe working practices on site
- Support risk assessments, safe systems of work and internal, group and external audits, maintaining accurate records
Skills & Experience:
- Qualified NEBOSH Diploma – Desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate – Minimum (or working towards)
- IEMA Professional Environmental training / qualification – Desirable
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and experience of health and safety and environmental matters within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lead and drive cultural and behavioural change and improvements in a diverse working environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with all staff across all levels of the business
- Ability to work on own initiative through excellent time management skills
- Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook
- Possess internal drive to develop and deliver the expectations of the role with an energetic and passionate approach
Working Hours & Benefits:
- Monday - Friday 8:00am until 4:30pm
