About PolyBox
PolyBox is an AI‑powered reporting and analytics platform built for marketers.
We help marketing agencies and in‑house teams bring their advertising, analytics, CRM, finance and operational data together in one place, reducing the time and complexity involved in producing meaningful reports.
Over the past year, we have worked closely with customers to understand their reporting challenges, improve our platform and establish a strong product–market fit. With that foundation now in place, PolyBox is entering its next stage of growth.
We are focused on scaling our customer implementations, strengthening our data infrastructure and continuing to develop a platform that makes complex marketing data easier to understand and act upon.
We are a fast‑moving startup where priorities evolve, problems are solved collaboratively and individuals have genuine ownership over their work. We are looking for people who enjoy learning, solving complex problems and contributing directly to the development of a growing technology company.
Working at PolyBox
Working at PolyBox means joining a small, ambitious team where your contribution has a visible impact on both the product and our customers.
We operate in an environment where customer requirements, platform capabilities and implementation priorities can develop quickly. We value transparency, clear communication and practical problem‑solving, and we encourage everyone to ask questions, challenge ideas and take responsibility for their work.
You will work closely with customers, software developers, product colleagues and the wider founding team. The role offers significant exposure to data architecture, integrations, customer implementations and the continued development of the PolyBox platform.
The Role
The Data Solutions Engineer will be responsible for understanding customer reporting and technical requirements and translating them into practical data and integration solutions.
You will work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand existing systems, data sources and workflows. You will then design how these systems connect with PolyBox, define the required data structures and transformation rules, and support the technical delivery of each implementation.
This is a customer‑facing technical role suited to someone who enjoys working across data, systems and software integrations. You will need to be comfortable investigating complex data issues, producing clear technical documentation and communicating with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
The role does not currently include line‑management responsibilities, but it requires a high level of ownership, organisation and collaboration.
Main Responsibilities
- Meet with customers and internal stakeholders to understand their business, reporting, data and technical requirements.
- Analyse existing customer systems, data sources and workflows, and translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Design data architectures and integration solutions connecting advertising platforms, analytics tools, CRM systems, finance platforms and other customer data sources.
- Define data mappings, transformation rules, reporting structures and technical specifications for new customer implementations.
- Configure and support data connections, APIs, data pipelines and platform integrations.
- Investigate data‑quality issues, integration failures and discrepancies between source systems and the PolyBox reporting platform.
- Work with software developers and product colleagues to convert customer requirements into platform features and technical implementation plans.
- Produce solution‑design documents, data‑flow diagrams, integration specifications and implementation guidance.
- Validate proposed solutions through testing, proof‑of‑concept work and technical review.
- Support customer onboarding and provide technical advice throughout the implementation process.
- Identify opportunities to improve system architecture, data reliability, scalability and implementation processes.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for customer configurations, integrations and data models.
Essentials
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, data science, software engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Relevant experience in solutions engineering, data engineering, systems analysis, technical consulting or a related role.
- Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business and technical requirements.
- Experience designing data integrations, data models, system workflows or other technical solutions.
- Working knowledge of APIs, databases, data transformation processes and cloud‑based software platforms.
- Ability to investigate technical problems, integration failures and data‑quality issues.
- Ability to explain technical concepts and proposed solutions clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, documentation and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong customer communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customer implementations and priorities in an organised manner.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with software development, product and customer‑facing teams.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
Desirable
- Experience working with marketing, advertising, CRM, finance or analytics data.
- Experience integrating platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, Xero or similar systems.
- Experience working with data warehouses, ETL or ELT tools, SQL databases or reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Google BigQuery or comparable technologies.
- Experience producing data‑flow diagrams, system architecture diagrams or technical implementation specifications.
- Experience working in a startup, scale‑up or other fast‑changing environment.
- Experience supporting customer onboarding or software implementation projects.
- An interest in data platforms, analytics, automation and AI‑powered products.
