The Import Export Executive is responsible for managing all aspects of the import and export process, including end-to-end documentation, logistics, and customs compliance. This role coordinates with suppliers, forwarders, and internal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of goods while adhering to international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Documentation: Monitor adherence to customs laws and trade agreements. Prepare and review invoices, bills of lading, COOs, and customs declarations.
  • Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with freight forwarders to arrange transportation, track shipments, and manage customs clearance.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work with customs authorities to resolve issues and coordinate with internal sales, finance, and warehouse departments.
  • Inventory & Costs: Monitor inventory levels, optimize supply chain lead times, and identify cost-saving opportunities in shipping and routing.
  • Tariff Classification: Accurately classify goods according to customs tariff codes.
  • Purchasing Support: Assist with supplier follow-ups, contract negotiations, market research, and maintaining vendor relationships.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in import/export operations and familiarity with Incoterms.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classifications, and trade compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel), Google Workspace, and customs clearance software.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Procurement experience or purchasing qualifications are a significant advantage.
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
