Overview

In this role, you will ensure smooth and efficient financial transactions for clients, manage banking relationships, oversee letters of credit and collateral, maintain bank mandates, process payments, and deliver excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support banking management activities, including the KYC process, bank mandates, and bank overdraft administration.
  • Assist in managing the Collateral/Letter of Credit (LOC) register, including withdrawals, annual applications, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new clients by coordinating the setup of bank, trust, and investment accounts.
  • Ensure timely settlement of payments in line with delegated authority and actively monitor outstanding invoices/statements.
  • Administer cashbook processes, including daily cash reports and bank reconciliations.
  • Contribute to cash flow forecasting activities to support liquidity management.
  • Post journal entries and participate in treasury month-end reporting.
  • Provide input to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with clients, third parties (including bank relationship managers), and PoloWorks colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the wider client finance team to meet all client Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure adherence to established procedures and controls while identifying potential areas for improvement.
  • Keep procedural documentation up to date and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and work with stakeholders to implement updates in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance efficiency, optimize services, and manage costs effectively.
  • Commit to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Support internal and external audits for both clients and PoloWorks.
  • Maintain strict compliance with information security protocols.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
  • Proven experience in bank reconciliations and cash management.
  • Understanding of foreign exchange and cash flow statements is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, including intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively address challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as SUN/Q&A and internet banking is desirable.
