Polo Works is a provider of outsourced services within the insurance industry. Due to business growth, a senior finance opportunity is available, reporting to the Head of Client Finance. The role is responsible for financial reporting, processes and controls across non‑Lloyd’s clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance team in providing financial reporting processes for insurance clients, offering leadership and technical guidance.
- Lead change initiatives such as remediation or process redesign, working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Review financial results for non‑Lloyd’s clients, ensuring integrity and timely delivery of all regulatory and statutory financial reporting.
- Manage financial compliance and oversee compliance processes.
- Collaborate with Client Finance Managers to onboard new clients, review accounting policies, establish documentation and controls, and embed best practices into BAU.
- Prepare Board and Audit Committee papers and attend meetings when required.
- Continuously review and improve financial controls on a rolling basis.
- Coordinate with external auditors for audits and internal audit reviews.
- Manage related tax return data requests and maintenance of accounting policies in line with current standards.
- Work closely with clients on new accounting standards, preparing technical papers and aligning processes.
- Lead finance projects, including IT financial systems development where relevant.
- Oversee team work, resolve issues, and collaborate with clients as needed.
- Train and develop team members in insurance‑related skills.
- Partner with the learning & development team to identify training needs and strengthen team knowledge.
