You will proactively collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to successfully deliver customer-facing, business-critical projects. Working closely with the PoloWorks senior management team and a Senior Project Manager, you will help plan and lead change initiatives that deliver clear business outcomes, with a strong focus on implementing new solutions for our customers. This is a highly customer-facing role, requiring the ability to operate as both a trusted advisor on key projects and a hands-on delivery lead who can drive progress and turn plans into action. This position is centred on working with business workstreams and external customers. It is not an IT project delivery role. The role is based in the PoloWorks London office, with an expectation of working onsite two to three days per week, alongside occasional travel to the Polo Cheltenham office. Candidates must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of the Lloyd’s of London insurance market, or experience within a similarly complex, highly regulated industry.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate projects to implement new insurance syndicates at Lloyd’s of London for customers, working with customer representatives and internal teams to meet all Lloyd’s of London and regulatory requirements and to provide all related deliverables to onboard the client within Polo.
- Initiate projects, define deliverables and establish plans and governance models.
- Deliver projects across multiple workstreams (displaying industry recognised techniques and methodologies) to agreed time, cost, quality, TCF and compliance objectives.
- Execute and manage the project plan on a day-to-day basis, monitor progress and take all necessary actions and escalations where appropriate.
- Establish, lead, and manage cross functional and multi-disciplined teams (e.g. Business Operations, IT, Risk, Audit, etc).
- Resource projects appropriately and early escalation of potential slippage.
- Routinely engage with and communicate with internal and external Senior stakeholders.
- Prepare reports for weekly steering group meetings with client.
- Support the senior management decision making process.
- Work in accordance with Polo’s policies, client and regulatory requirements and operational frameworks.
- Engage in Polo leadership forums to share progress, lessons learned and best practices.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Proven Project Management track record with experience of the full project lifecycle and commercial environments.
- Highly effective stakeholder engagement, internally, with customers and with third parties.
- Must have previous experience of working directly with external clients.
- A professional and flexible approach.
- Champions change and proactively seeks continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Experience of working in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market or a similar highly regulated industry is essential.
- Previous experience with a Lloyd’s of London managing agency or Turnkey provider is desirable.
- Experience working within an outsourcing environment is desirable.
- Budget management experience.
- Relevant project management qualifications (e.g., Prince2, MSP, APM) required.
