- Own technical order readiness by ensuring customer requirements are fully clarified and documented before engineering execution.
- Bridge customer expectations and internal capabilities by negotiating solutions that are technically sound, manufacturable, and commercially aligned.
- Drive execution efficiency by delivering complete, executable orders that reduce engineering rework and improve project performance.
Primary responsibilities:
Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and the Midstream engineering organization throughout the quotation, contract review, and order entry process.
Review customer specifications, technical requirements, and contractual documentation to identify technical clarifications, commercial exceptions, and engineering risks prior to order release.
Work directly with customers, EPC contractors, and Sales to obtain all necessary technical clarifications, specification interpretations, approvals, and waivers required for successful project execution.
Negotiate technically acceptable alternatives that balance customer requirements with NOV engineering standards, manufacturing capabilities, project schedules, and commercial objectives.
Resolve technical questions and specification discrepancies before project handoff, minimizing engineering involvement in customer clarification activities after order entry.
Ensure customer purchase orders, specifications, deviations, and technical documentation are complete, accurate, and fully aligned before release to Engineering.
Deliver technically complete and commercially aligned "clean orders" to the Engineering team, enabling efficient project execution with minimal clarification cycles.
Coordinate internal technical reviews involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales to ensure proposed solutions are practical, executable, and profitable.
Evaluate technical and commercial risks associated with customer requirements and recommend mitigation strategies during the quotation and contract review process.
Support Sales during customer meetings, technical bid clarifications, and pre-award negotiations as the regional technical authority.
Review and approve customer technical deviation requests, exception registers, and clarification logs in coordination with Engineering and Product Management.
Monitor engineering feedback and recurring customer issues to identify opportunities for standardization, improved specifications, and reduced engineering workload.
Develop and maintain regional application guidelines, standard technical responses, and approved engineering deviations to improve quotation consistency and execution efficiency.
