We are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our Engineering & Maintenance team based in Middlesbrough. We are seeking an enthusiastic and practical engineer with experience in maintaining, repairing, and improving industrial equipment and assets.

The Role
Working within our Engineering & Maintenance team, you will help ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of equipment across the AV Dawson site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities
- Performing reactive maintenance and repairs
- Fault finding and problem solving on a variety of equipment
- Conducting inspections and servicing activities
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Working safely and following company procedures
- Assisting with engineering projects and equipment upgrades
You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of equipment and assets, including:
- Cranes and lifting equipment
- Overhead cranes
- Conveyors and material handling systems
- Fixed and mobile plant
- Locomotives
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Mechanical drives and rotating equipment
- Marine and port-related assets
About You
- Experience in an engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, marine, plant, ports, logistics, or industrial environment
- Strong practical problem-solving skills
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
