polkadotfrog is proud to be working with a very long-established company in Ipswich that manufactures industrial machinery used in a variety of industries. They are a friendly, close-knit team who take pride in building reliable, well-made equipment and looking after their customers. Due to business expansion, they are looking for a Design Engineer to support the delivery of customer orders from start to finish.
The Role
This is a practical, varied position where you’ll be involved in many parts of the project process. Typical duties include:
- Generating top down / parametric 3D CAD Models using Autodesk Inventor for 3D mainly and AutoCAD for 2D
- Helping plan and organise engineering projects from sales order to commissioning
- Speaking with customers to understand their needs to provide project specific solutions
- Producing product specifications
- Supporting improvements to machinery and processes
- Providing technical support on consumables
- Ensure project and spears drawings are up to date
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- From an engineering background
- Comfortable working in a small team where everyone gets involved
- Organised and able to manage several tasks at once
- Confident speaking with customers and colleagues
- Practical, hands-on and able to solve problems as they arise
Experience with industrial machines or similar heavy equipment is helpful but not essential if you have the right attitude and technical understanding.
