We are working with a leading business to recruit a Supply Chain Manager into a newly created role within their Ipswich-based Operations team. This is a key, business-critical hire. We are looking for an experienced supply chain professional with strong leadership credentials, a strategic mindset, and the ability to deliver results. This is your opportunity to take full ownership of the supply chain function — leading the team, setting direction, and ensuring delivery against business goals.
You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, Product, Technical teams, and external suppliers to keep everything moving seamlessly.
What you’ll be doing:- Leading and developing a high-performing, engaged Supply Chain team
- Defining and executing a clear, effective Supply Chain strategy
- Managing end-to-end operations: procurement, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, and returns
- Building strong supplier relationships and negotiating SLAs to drive performance
- Overseeing SOP, forecasting, and stock planning across multiple sites
- Identifying improvements, reducing risk, and driving continuous improvement
- Acting as the link between Supply, Sales, Logistics, and Technical teams
- Championing operational excellence and a culture of accountability and collaboration
- Proven at senior level within supply chain management
- A confident, people-focused leader who develops and inspires teams
- Strategic, solutions-driven, and comfortable managing complexity
- Experienced in ERP systems, procurement, and supplier management
- Skilled in continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma or similar)
- Analytical, organised, and able to influence at all levels
