Job Description: This role involves operating TOS W100 horizontal boring machines with full digital axis readout. The job includes working to coordinates, boring holes with Wohlhaupter boring heads, as well as milling, drilling and tapping operations. It is a precision engineering position focused mainly on one-off to three-off machining work for components used in the automotive and agricultural sectors. The successful candidate should be confident setting up workpieces for finish machining, reading 2D and 3D drawings, and checking tolerances using accurate measuring equipment such as bore micrometres.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate TOS W100 horizontal boring machines with full digital axis readout.
- Work accurately to coordinates and machine components to engineering drawings.
- Carry out boring operations using Wohlhaupter boring heads.
- Perform milling, drilling and tapping as part of daily machining work.
- Set up workpieces correctly for precision finish machining.
- Inspect completed work using bore micrometres and other measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret both 2D and 3D technical drawings.
- Produce high-quality one-off and small-batch components for industrial applications.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with manual boring machines.
- Strong practical experience with boring machine operation is essential.
- Apprentice-trained background would be an advantage.
