The Data Visualisation team is a new and specialist function at Policy Expert, responsible for bringing data to life through powerful, intuitive and actionable visualisations and reporting. The team owns, maintains, evolves and promotes the usage of our BI tooling (currently migrating to Power BI from Looker), drives our strategic visualisation roadmap, and ensures that insights are accessible, actionable, and easily interpretable across the business.
Your day to day as a Senior Visualisation Designer at Policy Expert:
- Use a Design Thinking mindset and UX/UI best practices to build compelling visualisations and dashboards, enabling the business to derive actionable insights quickly and intuitively.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, translating complex data into clear, impactful visual stories.
- Empower users across the business by providing accessible, user-friendly self-service BI solutions, improving data literacy and confidence.
- Ensure consistency and high quality across our visualisation and reporting estate, maintaining standards and best practices.
- Work closely with Data Engineering and Data Analytics to ensure data availability, correctness, and alignment with visualisation requirements in our Data & Analytics Platform.
Who are you:
- A skilled Data Visualisation and BI professional with hands-on expertise in Power BI (or equivalent leading tools such as Tableau, Qlik Sense or Looker).
- Experienced in creating visually compelling, intuitive dashboards and reports that deliver clear, actionable insights, enabling quicker and better business decisions.
- Proficient in SQL and comfortable working with modern cloud data warehouses (preferably BigQuery on GCP).
- Adept at collaborating with business stakeholders to understand requirements, ensuring visualisations are user-focused, intuitive, and meaningful.
- Confident communicator, able to effectively convey complex insights clearly and engagingly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Experience in the insurance industry (particularly pricing) would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.
This role will be based in our London office in a 50/50 Hybrid mode.
