The Home Risk Pricing Team is responsible for developing the most accurate and comprehensive view of customer risk. Our goal is to consistently improve this through the use of advanced statistics & machine learning, rich datasets and a cloud-native infrastructure.

About the Risk Pricing team: We are seeking bright, ambitious individuals eager to make a meaningful impact and accelerate their growth. Your day to day:

  • Model Development: Oversee the end-to-end design, build and validation of our Risk Models using various modelling techniques such as GLM’s and GBM’s within Emblem or Python.
  • Monitoring: Implement and maintain a monitoring framework to flag underperforming models and the necessary actions needed to be taken.
  • Research & Development: Explore and create new data sources, modelling techniques and any other innovative methods to improve the overall Risk Pricing Function and become industry leading.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Partner with Underwriting, Fraud, Risk & Reserving, Tech and Home Retail Pricing to bring together projects and ideas into actioned results.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present model outputs of your work across the business to various teams such as Retail, Finance and Underwriting ensuring that the value of Risk Pricing is clearly understood and leveraged.

Who are you: We know we have high expectations, so please don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes, you’ll certainly learn on the job!

  • Experience in UK General Insurance (Motor and/or Home), with a solid understanding of pricing principles and regulatory governance.
  • Familiarity with pricing / modelling software: e.g. Emblem, Radar, Earnix etc.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical modelling (e.g. GLMs, GBMs, clustering) applied to risk pricing.
  • Data proficiency: SQL, Experience handling large, complex datasets.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently, with a proactive, organised, and detail-oriented approach.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with Data Modelling and creation of data pipelines.
  • Familiarity of developing and implementing Risk Models end-to-end.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure).

This role will be based in our London office in a 50/50 Hybrid mode.
