Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

To deliver a prompt and efficient maintenance function for the Police College, with particular emphasis on Health & Safety of all College personnel and buildings.

Ensure that the Police College buildings are maintained to a high standard, carrying out reactive and planned maintenance activities, as directed by the Estates Supervisor/Facilities Officer, ensuring that all such activities are carried out in line with Health & Safety guidance and policy.

Carry out appropriate and timely maintenance activities (including plumbing, electrical, joinery, pool, roof and heating maintenance etc.), delivering these activities in the most effective and efficient manner and carry out all activities taking into account all relevant legislation (including new build/ listed building/fire requirements/safety requirements) as well as best industry practice.

Carry out smaller scale maintenance project and refurbishment works across the organisation and work with external contractors to deliver specific large scale maintenance projects and refurbishments as required. Maintain up to date and timely records and drawings to enable management information to be collated and analysed.

You will be responsible for assessing and self-managing risk within all aspects of the role. The above accountabilities and responsibilities are not exhaustive, and the Jobholder may be required to undertake additional duties that are consistent with the level and grading of the role.
