Applications are invited from candidates who wish to have an opportunity to work within the new Service Delivery Team within the Technical Support Unit. In the role of Client Service Manager, the successful applicant will manage and deliver a range of complex spends to provide the Technical Support Unit (TSU) and Police Scotland with efficient and effective provision of specialist technical procurement services. This will be delivered in line with overall organisational goals and relevant legislation and directives. The Client Service Manager will take the lead on, and be responsible for, both capital and revenue budgets and spending relating to the TSU. It is desirable that the candidate is degree qualified, with experience working with TSU and/or procurement and have proven history in delivering projects. Successful applicants will have responsibility for the delivery of an efficient and effective tendering process. This will include contract management and ensuring adherence to legal and statutory requirements and support delivery of the procurement and supply chain for the Technical Support Unit. Applicants must have an expert understanding of and demonstrable experience within financial / procurement principles. They should have excellent communication, organisational and planning skills. Working as part of a small team, the successful applicant will have line management responsibility for the Gateway Coordinator. Due to the sensitive nature of some of the material being managed, the successful applicant must be willing and be vetted to Management Vetting (MV) and Security Clearance (SC). This role is varied, and the successful applicant will be expected to enthusiastically engage in all aspects of the work, including any other tasks consistent with the grading of the role.
