Compliance Advisor in Liverpool

Reporting to: Compliance Business Partner

Role Type: 6 to 12 months fixed term contract

Hours: 35 hours per week; however we are also open to consider 0.8 fte (28 hours per week) for the right candidate.

We're looking for a proactive and collaborative Compliance Adviser to join our Compliance team on a 6-12 month fixed-term contract.

Reporting to the Compliance Business Partner, you'll help ensure we meet our regulatory obligations while supporting the delivery of good customer outcomes across the business. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders at all levels, providing practical compliance advice, guidance and challenge in a fast-paced insurance environment.

To be successful in this role, you'll need a minimum of three years' experience in a compliance role within a regulated financial services environment, ideally within an insurance intermediary, broker, MGA or insurance distribution business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing pragmatic, risk-based compliance advice on business activities and change initiatives.
• Supporting compliance monitoring and thematic reviews.
• Reviewing customer communications and financial promotions.
• Assisting with regulatory reporting, governance reporting and information requests.
• Supporting Consumer Duty requirements and customer outcome assessments.
• Monitoring regulatory developments and helping implement regulatory change.
• Assisting with regulatory enquiries, audits and reviews.
• Promoting a positive compliance culture through guidance, awareness and training.

About You

You'll be a proactive and commercially minded compliance professional with at least 3 years' experience in a compliance role within a regulated financial services environment, ideally gained within an insurance intermediary, broker, MGA or insurance distribution business.

You'll be comfortable building effective relationships across the business, providing practical advice and constructive challenge, and helping colleagues navigate regulatory requirements while delivering good customer outcomes.

Skills & Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' compliance experience within a regulated financial services business.
• Experience within an insurance intermediary, broker, MGA or insurance distribution environment.
• Good understanding of FCA regulatory requirements and principles relevant to insurance distribution.
• Knowledge of Consumer Duty and the importance of delivering fair customer outcomes.
• Understanding of compliance risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations.
• Knowledge of AML, financial crime, data protection and privacy requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, assess impacts and make pragmatic recommendations.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in a practical business context.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Professional compliance qualification (ICA, CISI or equivalent).
• Experience supporting compliance monitoring, thematic reviews and regulatory change initiatives.
