Do you have a spare bedroom in your home for a child? Are you looking for rewarding career that will change and shape a child or young person ’s life?

About Barnet:

Barnet is one of London’s most populous boroughs, which is a vibrant, diverse and successful city-suburb. Each year, we need at least 20 new fostering households to meet the increasing demand, a need made more critical by the pandemic and cost of living challenges. We need families who can provide stability, care and support to our children and young people.

Barnet works in partnership with local schools, health, voluntary and council services to provide the best all round support to our children and their carers. We offer competitive fees and allowances, along with excellent benefits and rewards, including tailored training and development to help you become the best foster carer possible.

Role:

We are looking for caring, patient, and resilient individuals who can provide care in their homes for children and young people who are unable to live with their birth families. If you have a spare room and the time to foster, consider fostering for Barnet.

  • a spare bedroom (babies under 3 can share a bedroom with you)
  • a genuine passion for wanting to make a difference to young people’s lives
  • patience, empathy, and enthusiasm
  • the ability to support our children through the good, the difficult and sometimes the challenging moments they may face on their journey
  • have the legal right to live and work in the UK
  • be at least 21 years old (there’s no upper age limit)

What Barnet offers to foster carers:

  • Excellent professional support and out-of-hours assistance
  • Competitive fees, allowances, great benefits and rewards
  • 14 days Paid Holiday
  • Comprehensive training programme (mix of eLearning and face to face)
