Key Responsibilities:
- Support policing implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Policy-as-Code and automated security validation.
- Design and implement security configuration baselines across the PDS cloud estate.
- Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts and policy frameworks to ensure consistent configuration and compliance across cloud environments.
- Implement policy-as-code approaches using policy tools, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) and domain-specific languages (ARM, Bicep or Terraform) to enforce security standards.
- Build and maintain secure platform images and configuration templates for cloud workloads.
- Create automated baseline configurations for identity management, data governance, and security services across cloud platforms.
- Develop DevSecOps tooling and scripts to allow engineering teams to deploy secure configurations consistently.
- Produce reusable security modules, scripts and automation pipelines to embed security controls into platform builds.
- Support implementation of continuous compliance and automated security validation within CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in continuous improvement, optimisation, AI and process automation.
What you need to succeed in the role:
- Experience implementing security baselines and configuration standards across Microsoft cloud services.
- Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools.
- Experience implementing cloud policy, policy-as-code, or configuration-as-code frameworks.
- Experience building secure golden images, templates or infrastructure baselines.
- Experience automating configuration and compliance for services such as: Microsoft Entra ID (Identity & Access Management), Microsoft Purview (Data governance & compliance), Microsoft Defender security services.
- Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS is also accepted.
- Experience working with domain-specific languages such as ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and secure platform engineering.
- Interest in continuous learning and contributing to team strategy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
