Bakery Counter & Kitchen Assistant
Casella & Polegato – Award-Winning Artisan Bakery, Whitefriars, Perth

We\’re a small family-run artisan bakery with a big passion for quality and customer service. We\’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and food-loving team member to join our Whitefriars shop and kitchen.

What the job involves:

As part of our team, your daily tasks will include:

• Main Job: Preparing and serving simple food (sandwiches, lasagna, soups)
• Assisting customers at the counter with a friendly, helpful attitude
• Recognising and explaining our breads
• Stock the drinks in the fridge
• Placing small orders with suppliers and checking deliveries
• Keeping stock organised and being aware of levels
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the shop and kitchen
• Supporting team communication and workflow

What we\’re looking for:

• A passion for food and pride in your work
• Standard food hygiene awareness (or willingness to complete a course)
• A quick learner, open to advice and keen to improve product quality
• Fluent in English with good communication skills
• Reliable, flexible, and a team player
• Comfortable with stock awareness and ordering supplies
• Willing to work independently once trained

Hours:

Approx. 13–15 hours per week (with the possibility of more in the bakery):

• Tuesday: up to 7/8 hours (sandwiches, lasagna & soup prep)
• Wednesday: 2–3 hours (sandwiches & prep for Thursday)
• Thursday: day off
• Friday: 2–3 hours
• Saturday: 2–3 hours (with early start at 6:30am twice a month)
