The Opportunity

We are looking for a Network & Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands‑on technical skills to join our IT operations team. This role is responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of our network and infrastructure systems, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of core IT services. The ideal candidate will have experience with both on‑premise and cloud‑based infrastructure, working directly with hardware/software keeping systems running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Network Operations: Troubleshoot connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, VPN, WLAN) and resolve incidents quickly. Maintain and update network diagrams, documentation, and inventory. Support remote access solutions and VPN connectivity for staff and contractors. Design secure and resilient solutions that align with compliance and business requirements. Evaluate new technologies and tools, recommending adoption where beneficial.
  • Infrastructure Support: Deploy and manage virtual machines (VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar). Oversee storage systems, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning/testing. Monitor and maintain backups, storage systems, and disaster recovery processes. Patch and update servers, firmware, and networking equipment as required. Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in network and infrastructure engineering.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing mid‑size network architectures.
  • Strong understanding of data center technologies, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
  • Hands‑on expertise with enterprise firewalls, load balancers, and high‑availability designs.

Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple operational tasks.
  • Good communication skills for working with end users and IT teammates.
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, and security‑minded approach.

Additional Skills

  • Experience in maritime technology or similar.
  • AWS experience is a huge plus.

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (CCNA, VMware VCP, AWS Solutions Architect).

Travel Required

Some international travel will be required; your first 2 weeks will be in St. Pete, Florida, USA.
