We have a fantastic job opportunity for a Hydro Pool Attendant / Leisure Facilities Assistant/Lifeguard, ideally who has experience of life guarding and some pool management, excellent customer care skills and is a professional and strong team player. Also an opportunity to support the wider sport PE curriculum through leading groups and off-site activities.
Grade 13 dependent on experience (pay award pending). 37 hours per week, this role is all year round which includes supporting holiday provisions. You will be required to fulfil a variety of roles within the facility throughout the working day.
As the Hydro Pool Attendant / Leisure Facilities Assistant/ Lifeguard you will have the opportunity to deliver great service and as such you must be polite, professional, enthusiastic and vigilant at all times to provide a safe environment for all stakeholders.
DUTIESKey responsibilities of the Hydro Pool Attendant / Leisure Facilities Assistant/ Lifeguard will include:
- Overseeing swimming activities in the Hydro pool and making sure that safety procedures, guidelines and policies are followed
- Warning of unsafe activities and enforcing water safety policies and pool regulations
- Providing first aid in the event of injury, rescuing swimmers in danger or distress and administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or artificial respiration, if necessary. Training can be arranged.
- Assessing conditions for safety and coming up with an action plan for aquatics emergency
- Inspecting pool equipment, facilities and water testing to make sure they are usable and safe
- Supervising and assisting in cleaning equipment and facilities
- Opening and closing the pool each day, depending on schedule and hours
- Managing session bookings
- Organising and overseeing pool parties
- Assisting classes in fundamentals of swimming
- NPLQ Course/Training provided
