About Our School
Located in Ipswich, Redstone Hall School has recently opened and has the capacity for up to 30 pupils. The school offers a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex needs. Role Responsibilities:
- Support improvements in wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience and behaviour management within Redstone Hall School
- Work with members of the education team to support young people's personal and academic development by removing barriers to learning
- Promote positive learning behaviours among young people
- Lead classes during planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time and provide absence cover
- Deliver enrichment activities
- Support pupils during lessons with their academic understanding and pastoral, emotional or behavioural needs
- Respond to immediate concerns and clarify the situation
- Create and collate information relating to lessons and interventions delivered
- Assist in preparing information for meetings concerning pupils
- Act as an advocate for the ethos of Redstone Hall School
- Lead pastoral interventions and review the progress made by young people
- Develop the role of pupil voice and liaise with the Senior Leadership Team regarding the pupil council
- Develop relationships with parents and carers, taking an active role in transitions and consultation visits
- Lead ELSA sessions and complete training with the local authority
Requirements:
- Have a strong basic education, with a minimum of GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills
- Have previous experience in a similar role, such as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor
- Have previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH and/or autism within an educational setting
- Have experience of using effective behaviour management techniques
- Be committed to professional development and willing to learn
