At the heart of our operations is a small, central Information & Performance team that keeps the data flowing, and we're looking for an Apprentice Data Analyst to join us.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in data. As an Apprentice Data Analyst, you will learn how to work with data in a real business environment, gaining hands-on experience while completing a recognised apprenticeship qualification. You don't need previous experience. We're looking for someone who is curious, motivated and eager to learn. You'll be supported by an experienced team while contributing to meaningful work that supports services for vulnerable children across the UK.

What the Team Does

We manage a central SQL Server environment with reporting tools, bringing together data from multiple systems across the organisation. As an apprentice, you'll gradually learn how we:

  • Work with data from different systems across children's services
  • Produce reports and dashboards for colleagues
  • Maintain data processes and support reporting tools
  • Respond to data requests and help answer business questions

You'll be introduced to tools such as SQL Server, Excel and reporting platforms, with training and support provided throughout.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Learning how to collect, clean and organise data
  • Supporting the creation of reports and dashboards
  • Assisting with routine data tasks and processes
  • Helping investigate data issues and resolve errors
  • Working with colleagues to understand their data needs
  • Developing skills in tools such as Excel and SQL, full training provided
  • Completing your apprenticeship coursework alongside your role

What We're Looking For

We're not expecting experience. What matters most is your attitude and potential.

Essential:

  • An interest in data, numbers or problem-solving
  • A curious mindset and willingness to learn
  • Good attention to detail
  • Basic IT skills, e.g. Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desirable, but Not Required:

  • GCSEs or equivalent, including maths
  • Basic experience with Excel, including formulas and tables
  • Interest in technology or data analysis
