Located in Northwich, Northwich School offers a capacity of up to x pupils and provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged x to x years old with a range of complex needs. Role responsibilities

  • Mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils
  • Supporting the Classroom Teacher during lessons
  • Reporting on pupils’ progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to meet pupils' needs
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom times, including extracurricular activities and trips
  • Assisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation
  • Setting work where appropriate, and marking
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements

  • Strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role, e.g., Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas such as Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga
  • Experience in behaviour management techniques
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting
