Role Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support to an individual pupil or small group (up to six pupils)
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, sharing updates with relevant staff
  • Supervise pupils during non‑classroom activities, including breaks, trips, and enrichment sessions
  • Support lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource development
  • Contribute to setting and marking work where appropriate
  • Build strong, positive relationships to support pupil engagement and progress

Requirements

  • A strong standard of education, ideally to A-level, including GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs within an educational setting (desirable)
  • Confidence in behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to take initiative and contribute to wider school activities (e.g. lunchtime support, Forest School, wellbeing initiatives)
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting
