Contract: 12-month fixed term, part time, term time only. Position available for 2 days a week, Wednesday/Friday.

Salary: £21,257.48 - £23,232.69 (pro rata: £12,754.48 - £13,938.62)

About the School

Located in Huddersfield, our school provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 7 to 18. Role Responsibilities:

  • Support one pupil or a small group (maximum six)
  • Support the classroom teacher during lessons
  • Report on progress and concerns, liaising with school staff
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and trips
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation
  • Set work and mark where appropriate
  • Build positive relationships and support learning outcomes

Requirements:

  • Strong basic education (minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT skills
  • Experience in a similar role (teaching assistant desirable)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
  • Ability to take responsibility for areas such as food hygiene, forest school or activities
  • Experience of behaviour management
  • Commitment to professional development
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
