Salary: Up to £14.60 per hour (qualified support worker salary based on Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent)
Specific Hours: 20:00pm-08:00am (12 hour shifts)
Benefits:
- A robust Induction and mandatory training programme to upskill our workforce
- Progression within the organisation on promotion and development of given role
- Weekly rota on rotation - 48 hours
- Minimum average of 168 hours per calendar month
- 236 hours annual leave per annum (including bank holidays)
- Holiday increase per year - 12 extra hours for 3 years (capped at 272 hours)

- Enrolment and funding for required qualification if not already held

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stay awake and alert for the full night shift
- Ensure children's safety and wellbeing throughout the night
- Provide empathy, reassurance and support when needed
- Support personalised bedtime routines and occasional activities
- Keep accurate computer‑based records
- Follow the Philomena protocol for missing children
- Communicate with out-of-hours services and handle calls professionally
- Follow all Area Camden policies and act as a positive role model
- Contribute to the home’s values and adapt to children's changing needs
Essential skills required:
- Strong teamwork, energy and enthusiasm
- Knowledge of safeguarding children
- Able to follow tasks, record handovers and maintain policies
- Good written and verbal communication
- Able to listen, engage and act appropriately with children
- Organised with good planning skills
- Willing to work toward a Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (if not already held)
