About the School
Located in Burnley, Holdsworth School will provide a safe and supportive environment for up to 48 pupils aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex needs. The school will form part of the Polaris Community, which has been improving the lives of young people for over 30 years.
Role Responsibilities
As School Administrator, you will provide a warm welcome for parents, visitors and colleagues, while supporting the smooth running of the school through reception, administration and attendance duties. Key responsibilities include:
- Answering calls, welcoming visitors and managing school correspondence
- Maintaining calendars, records, filing systems and school information
- Supporting meetings, including scheduling and minute taking
- Assisting the head teacher, school management team and education staff
- Supporting attendance processes, registers, reports and parent/carer communication
- Managing resources, post, deliveries, ID cards and school diary arrangements
- Using SIMS and other IT systems accurately
- Supporting safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection processes
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation, time management and prioritisation skills
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices
- Experience of developing systems and processes
- Excellent understanding of SIMS
- Ability to work within allocated budgets and monitor costs
- Ability to relate well to children and adults
- Able to work as part of a team and use own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality
