As the Head Teacher of Polaris Education - Morley School, you will be a forward‑thinking leader responsible for developing and implementing a vision that aligns with the Polaris Community ethos, ensuring compassion, inclusion and personalised learning. You will lead the school to meet Independent School Standards and the Education Inspection Framework, fostering a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5‑18 with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding Lead – collaborate with safeguarding partners, manage concerns and implement policies to develop a robust safeguarding culture.
  • Curriculum Enhancement – adapt and tailor the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students, providing a stimulating and engaging learning journey.
  • Pastoral Care and SEN Advocacy – champion a nurturing pastoral approach, emphasising emotional well‑being, mental health and social development and advocate for SEN students aligned with EHCP objectives.
  • Staff Development – support, mentor and promote continuous professional growth among staff, fostering a collaborative team spirit.
  • Community Engagement – build strong relationships with parents, carers and external partners to create a cohesive support network for the school.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with primary or secondary teaching experience.
  • Suitable first degree and/or NPQH (optional).
  • Experience working with SEN students and a deep understanding of their unique requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
