About the School
Located in Huddersfield, our school provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 7 to 18. Role Responsibilities:
- Support one pupil or a small group (maximum six)
- Support the classroom teacher during lessons
- Report on progress and concerns, liaising with school staff
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and trips
- Assist with lesson planning and preparation
- Set work and mark where appropriate
- Build positive relationships and support learning outcomes
Requirements:
- Strong basic education (minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT skills
- Experience in a similar role (teaching assistant desirable)
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
- Ability to take responsibility for areas such as food hygiene, forest school or activities
- Experience of behaviour management
- Commitment to professional development
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
