Our Technology Infrastructure team engineers and operates the foundational technology platforms that power all of the firm’s applications and businesses. Our disciplines span a broad array of technologies from datacentre infrastructure to large scale cloud services, with the shared goal of providing the most reliable, performant, modern technology platforms to improve time-to-market for our business. We also deliver end-user technology solutions to support the evolving collaboration and productivity needs of our global teams. What you’ll do:
- Manage and optimize a global virtual infrastructure ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across multiple regions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align virtual infrastructure capabilities with organizational needs.
- Configure and deploy VMware-based virtualization solutions, including vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
- Perform and manage VMware upgrades, including vSphere, ESXi and vCenter version upgrades.
- Perform capacity planning and tuning to ensure optimal performance.
- Build out VMware environments in new data centres, including configuration, optimization, and validation.
- Execute VMware hardware refresh and data centre migration projects, including planning, execution, and validation.
- Automate provisioning and management of virtual infrastructure utilizing PowerCLI and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Packer, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Secure the virtual environment by implementing best practices, including patch management, vulnerability remediation, and access control.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans using tools such as Zerto and VMware Live Recovery.
What’s required:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in technology, computer science, or a related discipline (or commensurate professional experience).
- 10+ years of hands-on experience managing, optimizing and securing a global virtual infrastructure running VMware technologies, including vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
- Experience with VMware upgrades, buildouts, and migrations.
- Experience with mixed Windows and Linux server environments.
- Sound understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, firewalls, routing) and knowledge of storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and their integration with VMware.
- Experience working with virtual desktops running on the VMware hypervisor.
- Experience with PowerCLI and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Packer, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Experience using VMware Aria Operations or other products for performance monitoring and optimization.
- Experience with disaster recovery tools such as Zerto and VMware Live Recovery.
- Ability to navigate a dynamic environment of changing priorities while maintaining focus on critical deliverables.
