About the Team

The Discretionary Global Macro trading desk is currently a 10-member team split between New York, London, and Hong Kong. The primary focus of the team is best-execution cross asset and timely and accurate trade booking in support of all 55 macro pods Point72 has globally covering Interest Rates, FX, Commodities, Credit and Equities. The team works directly with our PMs and Analysts in each pod to source liquidity, provide relevant market commentary and serve as a liaison with various internal partners including business, operations, margin, compliance and legal.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the macro trading team traders in the region assisting in all aspects of a trade lifecycle from pre-trade checks to execution and trade-booking.
  • Be responsible for position maintenance (e.g. swap unwinds, bilateral novations) and be the point person working with the back office in reconciliation.
  • Develop strong relationships with a broad set of liquidity providers and trading counterparties.
  • Participate in the development of the group’s trade capture systems and tools for both existing products and expansion products.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of work experience preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in assessing and determining how to handle high volumes of queries and issues.
  • Keen intuition for markets and a passion for studying them.
  • Team player, driven and collaborative.
  • Understanding of order lifecycle from order generation to booking & TCA.
  • Must exhibit strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Familiar with Rates OTC, FX and listed futures markets preferred.
  • Familiar with various trade capture systems including Orchestrade and Murex preferred.
  • We will train talented candidates with little relevant work experience, but evidence of a passion for markets is essential.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards.
