A Career with Point72’s Tax Team. The Tax team conducts tax research and planning projects, and oversees Point72’s tax compliance for 30+ hedge funds, 75+ private equity and management companies, high net worth individuals, and tax-exempt organizations. The team manages all tax-related projects with external counsel, public accounting firms, and internally within Point72. The Tax team coordinates with Big Four accounting firms to prepare and review partnership, corporate, individual, international, and state returns. The team also invests significantly in technology to help automate its compliance process, and has partnered with the firm’s Tax Technology team to build out its own proprietary tax software system(s).
What you’ll do:
- Partner with another tax manager to oversee all aspects of International (non-U.S.) tax return compliance, tax provisions, planning, and automation.
- Review tax workpapers and returns, with a primary focus on non-U.S. management company tax compliance across the UK, EMEA, and North America.
- Partner with senior legal and operation management teams on tax due diligence, structuring, and ad‑hoc tax inquiries, as required.
- Collaborate with the Accounting team and external tax compliance service providers to compute income tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for all non-U.S. management companies in these jurisdictions.
- Manage the firm’s transfer pricing, country-by-country, and Pillar II compliance, including information gathering and reviewing annual transfer pricing documentation.
- Work with the Tax Technology and Corporate Accounting teams to automate and recommend and process improvements for non-U.S. tax provisions and returns.
- Assist with audits conducted by tax authorities in the above jurisdictions.
- Provide supporting tax expense and supporting information to the U.S. Tax team for U.S. information return filings related to non-U.S. operations, including Forms 8865, 8858, and 5471.
- Assist Vendor Accounting Operations on indirect tax inquiries in non-U.S. jurisdictions.
- Support the Payroll team with global mobility matters, including permanent establishment (PE) exposure for management companies and investment funds.
- Monitor and proactively communicate potential non-U.S. tax law changes and their impact to relevant stakeholders.
What’s required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA, CA, ACCA, CTA, CIMA or equivalent certification.
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience in international taxation at a large public accounting firm, ideally with a focus on global operating companies.
- Expertise in UK corporation and partnership income tax return compliance, as well as in one or more additional jurisdictions, including Canada, France, Italy, Poland, UAE.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage shifting priorities and communicate clearly and frequently with cross‑functional teams and superiors.
- Superior problem‑solving skills and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
