A Career with Point72’s Equity L/S Business Team

The EMEA Long/Short Equities Business Analyst will be responsible for developing, deploying, and implementing creative solutions in the day-to-day running of the firm’s L/S Business in EMEA. You will be responsible for cross-functional coalitions within the Equities business (e.g., BD, Professional Development, Market Intelligence, Trading, Corporate Access) and supporting the EMEA Equities Management team in implementing the overall business strategy for the region. You will have the ability to manage/develop/enhance business planning initiatives and will have some exposure to senior level personnel within the LS Equities business.

What you’ll do

The EMEA L/S Equities Business Analyst will give support to EMEA L/S Equities Management team for all operational related matters, including but not limited to:

  • Recurring PM and Analyst meeting preparation
  • Front to back ownership of Investment Professional onboarding, account setup, and system access
  • Preparation of EMEA L/S weekly reports
  • Preparation, distribution, and coordination of key materials for Governance meetings
  • Preparation and maintenance of business update packs used for presentations to senior stakeholders
  • Ongoing maintenance of tracking mechanism for Portfolio Manager buying power
  • Ownership of local Capital planning process
  • Coordination with various stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Compliance, HR, Finance) on a range of topics including new contracts, mobility, and more
  • Coordinate inter-departmental initiatives with various functions including BD, Professional Development, and Trading, which are relevant towards the execution of strategic business initiatives focused on upskilling analysts, providing applicable tools for maximum efficiency
  • Automation projects to provide efficiency and improve effectiveness of reporting
  • Ad-hoc team support and requests

What’s required

The candidate will be required to hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management) with a keen interest in Equity Long/Short investing or the Asset Management industry more broadly. A professional qualification (i.e. Chartered Accountant, CFA, JD, other) is a plus, but not required.

Skills & Experience

  • Have a passion for driving change through challenging the status quo, particularly through automation and AI
  • Solution-oriented, with experience of using analytical skills and problem solving to creatively streamline existing processes
  • Be able to take responsibility for complex processes including analysing quantitative and qualitative data, creating interdepartmental and cross functional frameworks
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders, implement strategic relationship processes, and maintain meaningful lines of communication. The gravitas to interact with Senior Executives is important
  • Show entrepreneurial drive to promote innovation and think strategically
  • Have 3-5 years of prior experience within either a consultancy background or within financial services, ideally within the investment management or the hedge fund space.
  • BSc or BA undergraduate degree
  • Project management experience and a professional certification (CPA, CFA) are an advantage
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are required, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Coding skills are also desirable but not essential
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
