We are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a high-performing finance team on a temporary basis, with the role potentially lasting up to six months. This Management Accountant position will play a pivotal role in driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance insight to support informed decision-making within a complex and regulated environment. Based in Huntingdon, the Management Accountant role offers hybrid working, with approximately two days per week in the office.
As a Management Accountant, you will act as a trusted finance partner to budget holders, delivering high-quality management accounting, financial analysis, and commercial support.
Main Responsibilities- Producing accurate financial budgets, forecasts, and actuals for a designated business area
- Acting as the single point of contact for assigned budget holders, providing financial data and insight
- Delivering the management accounting and business planning processes for both OPEX and CAPEX
- Ensuring compliance with financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Driving continuous improvement and standardisation across budgeting and forecasting processes
- Challenging assumptions within bottom-up forecasts to ensure appropriate balance of risk and opportunity
- Supporting key financial milestones, timescales, and reporting deadlines
- Collaborating with Finance Managers, Financial Controllers, and wider finance teams
- Qualified finance professional (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working as a Management Accountant or in a similar role
- Strong experience producing budgets, forecasts, and management accounts
- Confident managing and influencing stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of financial controls and compliance frameworks
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Experience using financial reporting and analysis tools such as SAP, Power BI, or similar
- Hourly Rate: £28.60 per hour
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Location: Huntingdon
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid - approximately 2 days per week in the office
- Contract: Temporary, potentially up to 6 months
