We are currently recruiting for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join a growing and well-established organisation. This is a newly created HSEQ Advisor position, introduced due to business growth and increasing compliance requirements across health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
As HSEQ Advisor, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving systems, policies, and on-site compliance, ensuring a safe, healthy, and responsible environment for employees, clients, and the public. This HSEQ Advisor role offers a blend of office-based work with regular site presence, providing variety, autonomy, and real influence across the business.
Location: St Ives, Cambridge
Type: Permanent, Full-time on site
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation
- Review, update, and maintain company policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements
- Conduct regular on-site audits and inspections of site teams and equipment
- Ensure supervisors and managers complete scheduled monthly safety audits
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazard observations, producing reports and corrective actions
- Monitor and improve waste management, environmental impact, and social responsibility
- Issue safety bulletins and maintain accurate HSEQ documentation and records
- Work with management and external bodies to support staff competence, assessments, and training
- Assist with occupational health management and workforce wellbeing initiatives
- Attend industry workshops and training to introduce best practice and updated guidance
Skills / Experience:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher)
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or working towards)
- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths, English, and Science
- Strong written and spoken English skills
- Ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook at a basic to intermediate level
- Comfortable using online systems and apps for work management
- Experience working in a reactive, operational or construction-related environment
- Proactive, organised, and confident working independently
For the right HSEQ Advisor, support may be available to achieve NEBOSH qualifications.
Salary & Working Hours:
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
