Our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead projects from initial stages right through to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity to take hold of the whole design process and ownership.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be:
- Leading design and development of mechanical systems and components.
- Taking designs from requirements capture through to production.
- Producing clear, accurate CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Conducting mechanical analysis (structural, tolerance, etc.) and selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes.
- Building and testing prototypes.
Skills and experience required for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
- Strong experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment.
- Confident using SolidWorks CAD to produce production-ready designs.
- Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in plain terms.
