We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cable Jointer to join a rapidly growing utilities and power infrastructure business delivering essential works across LV and HV distribution networks. This is a hands-on role suited to a Cable Jointer who takes pride in safe working practices, quality workmanship, and seeing jobs through from start to finish.
This is a permanent position based across the region, working Monday to Friday. The company operates nationally within the power distribution sector and is known for investing in its people, maintaining high safety standards, and delivering reliable outcomes for major infrastructure clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out LV cable jointing and terminations in line with approved methods and standards
- Undertake HV jointing and termination works where qualified (enhanced pay available)
- Complete fault location and restoration activities on distribution networks
- Install, joint, and terminate cables on new connections, diversions, and reinforcement schemes
- Accurately complete as-laid records, test results, and daily job documentation
- Work safely at all times in accordance with RAMS, company procedures, and client requirements
- Promote a safe working environment for colleagues, clients, and the public
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, operatives, and client representatives on site
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order
- Deliver a professional, reliable service as a Cable Jointer on every job
Skills / Experience:
- Proven experience working as a Cable Jointer on LV distribution networks (essential)
- HV jointing and termination experience (desirable)
- Relevant electrical qualifications applicable to a Cable Jointer role
- Strong understanding of distribution network safety rules and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Competent using tablet-based or digital work management systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Positive attitude and willingness to develop within the Cable Jointer role
Salary & Working Hours:
- Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience (enhanced rates available for HV Cable Jointer experience)
- Hours: 45 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- One-hour lunch break
- Overtime and flexibility may be required to meet operational demands
