The Role

Are you a fully qualified accountant with strong finance business partnering experience? Are you confident working with senior leaders, challenging commercial decisions and turning complex financial information into clear, practical insight? Our client, a large and well-established organisation operating within a regulated environment, is looking to appoint a Senior Finance Business Partner on an initial six-month contract.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting financial planning, business performance and strategic decision-making across a key area of the organisation. Acting as the primary finance contact for senior stakeholders, you will provide high-quality financial insight, robust forecasting and commercial support to help improve operational efficiency and long-term financial sustainability. You will also use your business partnering experience to coach and support other members of the finance team, while providing cover for the Finance Manager when required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary finance contact for senior leadership stakeholders
  • Providing clear financial insight to support strategic and operational decisions
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and business-planning activities
  • Delivering accurate and timely management accounting information
  • Analysing financial performance and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Challenging stakeholders constructively and supporting commercial decision-making
  • Developing strong relationships across finance and operational teams
  • Communicating financial messages, deadlines and planning requirements effectively
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and governance
  • Driving continuous improvement across financial processes and reporting
  • Coaching colleagues to develop their finance business partnering capabilities
  • Providing cover and support for the Finance Manager when required
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information

Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Strong finance business partnering experience
  • Proven budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership stakeholders
  • Strong management accounting and commercial finance knowledge
  • Experience of financial controls and governance
  • Able to interpret complex financial information and communicate it clearly
  • Confident challenging decisions and influencing stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Previous experience within a large, complex or regulated organisation would be advantageous
  • SAP S/4HANA experience would be beneficial

Salary & Contract

Salary: Equivalent to £62,952 per annum

Contract: Initial six-month contract

Hours: 37 hours per week, full time

Working arrangement: Remote / hybrid working, with access to several regional office locations when required.
