We are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Huntingdon. This is a business that takes real pride in its craft, invests in its people, and offers genuine opportunities for career development and progression.
The shift maintenance team plays a critical role in keeping the factory running at its best - minimising production downtime and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. As a Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will be hands-on with fault finding and repair across a range of machinery as well as supporting the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across the site. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their work, thrives under pressure, and wants to develop their skills in a well-established manufacturing environment.
Main responsibilities
- Fault finding and repair of machines.
- Support the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across the site.
- Work as part of a close-knit shift team to minimise production downtime.
- Identify and escalate maintenance issues as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out.
Skills/experience
- An electrical or mechanical qualification (City and Guilds, NVQ, HNC or equivalent).
- Practical experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and/or pneumatics.
- Welding and/or fabrication skills (desirable).
- A methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
- Ability to work shifts and adapt to a rotating pattern.
- A team player who communicates clearly and takes ownership of their work.
Salary & working hours
- Salary: Up to £40,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
- Hours: 40 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern:
- Monday to Friday: 06:30 - 14:30
- Monday to Thursday: 13:30 - 23:30
- Sunday night start (once or twice per month): 22:30 - 06:30
