Our client based in Chatteris is looking for a Logistics Coordinator whose focus is to support the day-to-day running of the logistics department, inventory planning, and transport operations to ensure all goods are planned, received, stored, and dispatched safely, accurately, on time and in full. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, the Logistics Coordinator plans stock requirements in line with demand and harvest parameters, resolves logistical issues, ensures accurate system records, and contributes to continuous improvement across the logistics function.
Day to Day duties for the Logistics Coordinator:
- Coordinate the day-to-day logistics, warehouse, and dispatch administration activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely logistics records, reports, and operational documentation to support effective decision-making, traceability, and compliance.
- Responsible for the planning of raw material and procurement requirements in line with forecast demand.
- Control of the procurement and stock management of non-production consumables, including PPE and indirect operational supplies.
- Planning and ordering of packaging requirements in line with production schedules and lead times.
- Monitoring of stock levels, stock movements, and system accuracy. Investigation of stock discrepancies in a timely manner, identify root causes and support corrective actions to reduce losses, improve control, and maintain traceability.
- Coordinate the safe and effective use of internal and external storage arrangements to ensure stock is stored securely, compliantly and in line with operational requirements.
- Coordinate daily transport and haulier activity to ensure collections and deliveries are completed on time and service requirements are met.
- Support the identification and implementation of process improvements and cost-saving opportunities within the logistics function to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen operational performance.
Experience required for the Logistics Coordinator:
- Coordinating multiple logistics activities simultaneously including warehouse operations, inventory control, transport scheduling, and reporting.
- Managing operational priorities in a fast-paced environment where demand, dispatch schedules and supply requirements may change frequently.
- Required to ensure relevant availability of consumables.
- Required to resolve stock discrepancies across multiple stock locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with both internal and external teams.
Essential skills required for the Logistics Coordinator:
- Experienced operating in a similar role.
- Experience of using ERP systems.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of managing external haulier/supplier accounts.
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Good numeracy and analytical mindset.
The Logistics Coordinator position is Monday to Friday full time 40 hours per week.
